Happy Juneteenth
Something to ponder
As we all celebrate Juneteenth and remind ourselves why this day is important for Black people, I also hope you all take a few moments to patronize Black-owned businesses. Not just today or the weekend, but days after. Many small businesses are taking this time to market their businesses as a way to earn revenue or clientele. I had myself thinking about SistahCare Alliance. I didn’t intend to write a newsletter today, but after posting on Threads, I thought I would take a few moments to share my thoughts.
Here are some books written by Black authors. You can view them here.
Honestly, I can't provide a product. I don't have the artistic ability to make you feel beautiful with makeup, jewelry, clothes, or nails. What I can provide is resources and information. I can collaborate with physicians, specialists, and researchers to educate you on menopause and perimenopause, or what a normal menstrual cycle is. Since there isn't an instant-gratification factor in the work I do, I’m finding it difficult to secure donations or cash flow. I took a risk by being a for-profit. My goal is generational gratification and not instant gratification. Since it's Juneteenth, I encourage Black women to browse the newsletter, forward it to someone important, and donate to the cause.- Post from Founders Threads
